Services provided: Windows supplied and installed for Radcliffe Swimming Baths
Radcliffe Glass & Windows was approached by Bury Council to install windows which would reduce the carbon footprint of Radcliffe Pool & Fitness Centre which in turn would save money on the energy bills.
The frame specification and choice was considered very carefully and the decision was made to use our platinum range Profile 22 window. The window is multi-chambered with thermal inserts used from recycled uPVC windows. This makes the window 100% recyclable and gives it an edge in the sustainability requirement for all local councils.
The installation was for more than 100 windows of various sizes and specification. With Radcliffe Swimming Baths being such a large contract, it was most likely the biggest window installation performed in one phase in the Radcliffe area in a long time. The installation of windows and doors was carried out for the entire building which contained the gymnasium, crèche, spectators’ gallery, poolside and changing rooms.
The specification incorporated white multi-chambered uPVC frames with Planitherm soft coat, argon filled toughened safety glass and black plastisol feature panels. Visit www.planitherm.com for more details.
The boiler room was also very shabby in appearance but structurally sound so we gave the outbuilding a new lease of life by cladding it in white uPVC.
The building fabric contained asbestos so installation was time consuming and difficult so as to ensure the safety of the general public and Radcliffe Glass & Windows staff members. The installation was completed to a high quality finish within schedule by the skilled craftsmen at Radcliffe Glass & Windows.
