Our GGP Installer 2025 Award-Winning Glazed Orangery Extension

We were approached to construct a modern orangery extension in a conservation area, which required planning permission. The brief was to let light in and maximise the building’s location with views over the surrounding countryside.

After overcoming many challenges, we made an orangery with Origin Aluminium’s Non-Bonded Glazed OS29, providing minimal sightlines and maximising the glass area. The result was a beautiful extension and an award for Best Glazed Installation (over £40,000) at the 2025 GGP Installer Awards.

Conservatory to Orangery Conversion in Bolton

Were were approached by Mr and Mrs Handley of Harwood, Bolton to transform an old conservatory in Bolton, which was too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter.

Using Celsius glass in the structure, we made the living space usable all year round, added full height pillars to give a more solid feel to the build, and removed front elevation brickwork to flood the orangery with light.

Sustainable Window Installation for Bury Castle Leisure Centre

RADGAW were approached by Bury Council replace over 90% of the windows and doors of the Bury Castle Leisure Centre, aiming to reduce the carbon footprint of the building and the condensation around the pools.

Within 2 weeks, we installed toughened, thermally efficient windows with 100% recyclable frames that reduce condensation. This was all done without ever closing the Leisure Centre. Now the Leisure Centre has drastically reduced energy bills and condensation, along with reduced maintenance requirements.

Origin Moving-Corner Bi-Fold Door Installation

We were recommended by a project manager to install moving-corner bi-fold doors for this massive conservatory.

The client and project manager called into the showroom to see our Origin bi-folding doors, and a sample was made in their specified colour. The project was to house a modern yet traditional living area and swimming pool with an uninterrupted view when the doors were open. This is where the Origin moving-corner bi-fold doors come into their own, because when they are opened, the effect is very dramatic. Using the architect’s plans, we brought their vision to life and added UV-protected, energy efficient doors to this prestigious project.
