A Heritage Built on Craftsmanship, Innovation & Trust
Our story begins in 1979, when founder Pete Turner established the first double-glazing manufacturing company in the area. Back then, Radcliffe Glass & Windows was a small but highly skilled workshop offering glass cut to size, mirror processing, bespoke shelves and table tops, and the occasional installation of double-glazed units and windows. Even in its earliest days, the company earned a reputation for precision, quality, and reliability.
A New Era of Ambition
In the Millennium Year 2000, the business was purchased by Clive and Kelly Powers, along with Clive’s sister Susan and her husband Steve.
What happened next was transformational. Despite a shaky start—and overheads that tripled sales—the new team’s determination and drive doubled the company’s turnover within their first year.
By year two, turnover had doubled again.
Adapting, Evolving & Growing
With new legislation introduced in 2002, the business faced a pivotal moment: invest heavily in machinery to maintain manufacturing, or evolve.
Clive’s strategic decision to pivot toward window and door installation reshaped the company. The former manufacturing space became a small showroom and office, and the business rapidly expanded as demand grew.
By 2003, Radcliffe Glass & Windows was incorporated, and only a few years later, the company moved into larger premises to support its expanding showroom, warehouse, and team. When Susan and Steve decided to exit the business in 2006, Clive and Kelly took full ownership—guiding the company through its next major chapter.
Strength Through Hard Times
In 2007, the company purchased its current premises. Months later, the UK entered one of the most challenging recessions in history.
While competitors collapsed, Radcliffe Glass & Windows pushed forward—combining bravery, strategic thinking, and relentless hard work. Their resilience paid off: the company continued to grow, emerging from the recession stronger than before.
Expanded Our Offering
We expanded our offering with aluminium and timber-alternative windows and doors, becoming partners with Origin Aluminium and Evolution Windows.
Goldman Sachs
Clive earned a place on the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Programme at Manchester Business School, followed by the Ambassador Programme at Oxford University—training that enhanced the company’s long-term strategic planning.
FCA regulated
We became FCA regulated, giving customers flexible and trusted consumer-finance options.
Produce Exchange Building
Completed the full internal and external glazing of the Grade II Listed Produce Exchange Building, designed by renowned architect T. Shelmerdine.
FSB Family Business of the Year
Finalist in the FSB Family Business of the Year Awards and recorded a record £2.4m turnover.
Refurbished Our Showroom
Refurbished our showroom and launched a new website to elevate customer experience.
Celebrated 45 Years
Reaching three national GGP Installer Awards finals—and winning Best Feature Door Installation, officially crowning us Best in the UK for Spitfire Door installation.
Double National Award Winners – A Bold New Future
Entering five GGP Installer Awards categories and reaching the finals in all of them, the company went on to win:
- Best Residential Installation Over £30,000
- Best Glazed Extension Over £40,000
Radcliffe Glass & Windows proudly became the only double award winners of the day.
To mark the momentum of our success and our ambitions for the future, the company unveiled a new brand identity: RADGAW.

Launched on 30 June 2025, RADGAW represents a fresh, confident, forward-looking era—one that honours our heritage while defining the next phase of our growth.
With sales forecast to increase by 15–20%, we are excited for what 2026 and beyond will bring.
